It is neither spiritually based, nor meditative in nature, nor therapy nor massage.
It is rather, a series of exercises on land and water stretching based relaxation techniques and modified yoga techniques, for safety.
It is based on my experiences with people through 25 years of Personal Training, over 30 years of Teaching Swimming, 20 years as an Ocean Lifeguard. Also used, are my Sociology, Special Education and Anthropolgy backgrounds, my athletic experiences and strategies learned during my cancer survival.
I have experienced my share, or more, of ups and downs in life, including cancer (clear for now), as have many of you, and wanted a modern, present day application that could be used in an office, on a bus or train, your car, or at the moment of the onset of stress.
I use some of the most beneficial and safest aspects of swimming, yoga, stretching, and fitness.
Let's face it, if your boss fires you, your chances of walking through a door, finding a yoga class, and having it work for you quickly, are probably not good.
Less dramatic are the experiences of daily life and family. We live in a beautiful place, where during the summer months, people fight over parking spaces and deli lines: All contributing to a negative outlook, for your day.
Stress is also an individual thing, not always satisfied by the group experience. I have worked one on one for 30 years, and have found it to be more successful than the group, though I will do groups, also.
My training is to teach you how to train your body, physiologically,
to release stress, in times of tension. Also provided are some strategies to avoid stress and anxiety.
(This is a method for those who remain within the normal range of stress and anxiety. If you have a clincal diagnosis of depression or anxiety, you must immediately seek help from a health care professional.)
